4 ways to use affirmations to overcome self-doubt and negative thinking patterns
1. Fear of Losing Control:
To start you off, you’ll want to pick a very specific, short and easy affirmation that doesn’t require much mental energy to live by, i.e.
“I choose to believe I am in control of my body and mind.”
Take the first 30 seconds to sit quietly, focusing on the breath. In your mind and the external world, take note of your thoughts.
2. Fear of Being Noticed:
To go along with “I am in control of my body and mind”, you can repeat to yourself some thoughts like “I am in control of my body and mind”, “I am in control of my body and mind” etc. until you get bored.
Write it down and then rip it up.
3. Fear of Being a Failure:
Let’s not forget to work on our fears of failure, but since there is no timeline for how long we can wait, choose a longer one.
If you’re on a dare, go for “I have never failed at anything I
have tried”, then rip it up.
4. Fear of Risk Taking:
Try the following:
Say to yourself ‘I am more afraid of doing nothing than I am of doing something’.
Write it down.
