Which are the best habits for an effective person?

Here are some of the best habits for an effective person

1. Read What You Don’t Like: Why That Book Makes You Want to Shower
At the core, reading what you don’t like has two possible outcomes: It makes you a better reader and a better thinker and an (unhappy) detective who finds out the true meaning of everything in life. Or it makes you an angrier person, one who wants to read things that are not remotely interesting, and sometimes even people who are not interesting. The thing about books is that we’re free to read what we don’t like, and a lot of books aren’t boring.

2. Don’t Waste Your Time: Set Multiple Projects in Motion, Work on Just One at a Time
An effective person will generally never really finish anything that is in the midst of working on. Setting your sights on more than one task at a time can often lead to procrastination. Set a goal to finish one task, then move on to another. An effective person will often finish one task before starting the next.

3. Time Travel Like an Effectively Distracted Person
When I know I need to do something, I try to be prepared. I’ll write something down on my calendar or a Post-it. I have a specific place I’ll work. I think about it and try to plan accordingly. Then, when I have to get going, I have to focus, because I know I’m late if I’m not already well underway on the thing that needs to get done. If I’m not already prepared to do the thing at hand, I need to spend some time working on that in advance. I try not to leave things until the last minute. This has helped me to focus on the most important things, the things I really want to get done, the things that make me feel good.
